Mrs. Fowler's Assignmensts

Wow! It seems like the weeks are whizzing by. I was so happy to be back with you today. I appreciate the help of Mrs. Heape. It is so nice when the parents are with us.
I promised Mrs. Heape a list of possible titles for the Medieval Times reading program. Here are a few that come to mind:

General Science: Create two charts for your notebook. The first should compare catastrophism and uniformitarianism . You should include characteristics, similarities and differences.
The second should compare types of fossils. This should include casts and molds, petrification,
carbonate residues and impressions, and avoiding decomposition.
Please be prepared to write an essay in class comparing two of the subjects from your chart.

History/ Lit. I: Be prepared for your vocabulary test.
Research any European Cathedral and be ready with the following information:

1. What is the origin of the cathedral?
2. What historical figures ( if any) are associated with the cathedral?
3. What history is know about the building of the cathedral?
4. What is the present day use of the building?
5. Was it ever used for any other purpose?

Begin reading Chapter 20 of Story of the World?

Writing:
Finish essays on personal characteristics and the items in your room.
Make sure you include:
Topic sentence
supporting facts
commentary
Concluding statement
