History / Lit I: Thank you for your papers and projects. They all look great. Please read Chapters 1-4 in Son of Charlemagne.
Story of the World- Please read Chapters 22 and 23.

Please be ready to tell the beginning date of the Great Wall of China.


Writing: Prepare written ideas for the movie story line.

General Science: Module 8- Read to page 205. Answer all " On Your Own" questions.
Please do any private research you were asked to do in class. ( This was individual)

History/ Lit. I: Begin work on castle / cathedral paper. These are the specifications:

Hand written from 3.5 -4 pages. ( Please write in ink for a finished product)
Please include historical and architectural history. You may also want to include any historical figures associated with your building.
Please include the present day use of the site.
You must have at least two visuals ( drawings, pictures or models of the ACTUAL castle or cathedral).
Please include a bibliography of at least three sources used in your research. (Use MLA handout)
Writing: Be prepared to rewrite the legend Fafnir, the Dragon in class.

Math 7/6: Be prepared for a quiz on rounding decimals.

Wow! It seems like the weeks are whizzing by. I was so happy to be back with you today. I appreciate the help of Mrs. Heape. It is so nice when the parents are with us.
I promised Mrs. Heape a list of possible titles for the Medieval Times reading program. Here are a few that come to mind:

Morning Star of the Reformation by Andy Thompson
Adam of the Road by Elizabeth Gray
The Magna Carta by James Daugherty
Fine Print, A Story about Johann Gutenberg
by Joann J. Burch
The Hawk that Dare Not Hunt by Day by Scott O' Dell

General Science: Create two charts for your notebook. The first should compare catastrophism and uniformitarianism . You should include characteristics, similarities and differences.
The second should compare types of fossils. This should include casts and molds, petrification,
carbonate residues and impressions, and avoiding decomposition.
Please be prepared to write an essay in class comparing two of the subjects from your chart.

History/ Lit. I: Be prepared for your vocabulary test.
Research any European Cathedral and be ready with the following information:

1. What is the origin of the cathedral?
2. What historical figures ( if any) are associated with the cathedral?
3. What history is know about the building of the cathedral?
4. What is the present day use of the building?
5. Was it ever used for any other purpose?

Begin reading Chapter 20 of Story of the World?

Writing:
Finish essays on personal characteristics and the items in your room.
Make sure you include:

supporting facts
commentary
Concluding statement
