Many of us do not take the time to learn from those have had experiences that we have not enjoyed. It was fun to hear of his childhood and the way Beaufort has changed over the years.

Understanding Hitler's movements are essential.

Research and copy( with printer) a map of Hitler's early movements.

These should include Rhineland, Austria,

Well, today was an interesting day at school. Many of our students were gone because of the St. Helena trip to Kanuga, but I certainly enjoyed those of you who were there.

The 7th/8th grade students watched a film on Stonewall Jackson. It was very well done and emphasized his military genius ,and it also expressed his deep Christian commitment to those things he felt God had called him to do. I liked the idea that the film was not pro-South or pro-North, but was pro-God. What an example to us as we explore this time of division in history.

The 5th/6th graders spent some time in the St. Helena graveyard as we look toward Chapter 5 on the Civil War. Many Confederate and Union soldiers are buried in the church yard and their gravestones tell stores of their lives and dedication. It was a lot of fun.

Literature: Read Chapters 10-11 of Red Badge of Courage.

Dear Trinity Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year. I have been praying for our time together as I have

been preparing the lessons for the new year. I hope you are making your way through the summer reading and are ready for our time period in history and literature. The time period will be 1850 until the present day.

The summer reading selections are to help you gain insight into the time and introduce you to some characters who have helped to shape our world.

I believe that every book or lesson taught needs to be taught in the light of the holy scriptures. We will all learn a lot as Christians and people as we realize that the sovereign God who spoke the world into existence has a plan. As we look at history, His hand is evident .

A Christian, classical education uses the great books to teach students the about great works and writers of the age. I hope that as we make our way through the chosen books that you will not only enjoy them, but be able to evaluate each and its contribution to your education.

The best way to prepare for your classes is to come ready to learn and to work. That is when you will gain the most.

Parents, I am depending on each of you to be the other side of this partnership. We have to work together in order for your son or daughter to be successful. It is my desire that each student succeed.

For thousands of years man has looked to the resurrection of Jesus as a pivotal point in history.

It is my earnest desire that you each realize the significance of that event in your own life. I want you to know that day was ordained by the God of the universe for you individually. Jesus gave Himself that specific hour for you as a sacrifice. He knew you would need a Savior, and He is that Savior. Easter is the day all believers celebrate, not the death, but the fact that death could not hold Jesus in the grave.

I pray daily that you all know Jesus, not as some man in a story, but as your personal Savior.

I received a card this week that said, " Believers walk with Easter in their hearts all year." That's what I want for you. I want you to know Jesus as your Savior, and I want you to desire to walk with Easter in your heart all year. I pray that your holiday is safe and restful, and that you are focused on the reason we celebrate.

Well, all day I was concerned that I would have to make this decision, but the filed trip for April 1 is cancelled. The weather is suppose to be terrible and we must be safe at all times.

To make the blow of the cancelled trip a little softer, we are meeting tomorrow at Pizza Inn for pizza and a movie. We will meet at noon and will probably be finished about 2 p.m. I hope you can all join us.

Of course now I wished I had given you more homework, but I must stick with my original assignments.

Thank you to Mrs. Glover, our helper today. We appreciated you being with us.

Please remember our rocket launching on Tuesday.

Immediately after school we will meet in the dismissal parking lot and walk to Bladen Street together.

Mr. McFee is going to launch a rocket in an empty field there. We will then walk back to the parking lot.

When I arrived at home today, I had received the information from Charlestown Landing for our field trip. Mrs. Heape is going to be calling your moms to find out our final numbers. I hope you will all make plans to go. It should be great fun.

The weather is really pretty, but try to stay focused. You will have a break soon.
