Mrs. Fowler's assignments

Well, it is going to be May and we have so much work to do. Please pray that we will press on as we move toward the end of school.

7th/8th History: Research the aftermath of WWII. Include economics, death tolls, culture changes, and cities in ruin. Include Berlin, Tokyo, Paris and London. Don't forget about Russia.
( Moscow and St. Petersburg)
Work on your project.

Literature: Test on Trapp Family Singers.
Bring To Kill a Mockingbird to Class.

5th/6th History: Be ready to recite the assigned part of MLK's speech.
Read the first part of Chapter 38.

7th/8th History: Research Japanese internment camps, Jimmy Doolittle, Hiroshima, and
Nakasaki. Be ready to discuss each.
You may begin your interviews.

7th/8th Literature: Finish reading FTS.

5th/6th History: We talked about the Vietnam War today and looked at the reactions of Americans as those vets came home. We will finish Chapter 37 in class on Friday.
Begin memorizing the assigned portion of MLK's " I have a Dream " speech.

7th/8th History: Finish reading Air Raid. Be ready for a reading quiz.
Please try to register your vet by Friday if possible.
Your projects are due May 11.

5th/6th History: Finish reading Chapter 36 in SOW.
Research the Jefferson Memorial.

3. When was is built?
Narrow your subject for your own monument. Come ready
on Friday with your subject. They will be due on May 11.

7th/8th Literature: Read Chapters 13 of Book1 and Chapters 1-3 of Book 2 in TFS.
Watch for historical points and accuracies.

7th/8th History: Read Chapters 9-10 of AR and take reading notes. You will have
a quiz.
Please wait to register your vet. I have not talked to the LOC yet.
You may want to make yourself more familiar with the questions and the
filming procedures.
5th/6th History: We will test on the states and capitals on Friday.
We reviewed Chapters 32-34 in class and began Chapter 35
together. (SOW) You may want to review this at home.
