Mrs. Fowler's assignments

I want to again thank all the parents who drove for the field trip. We would have missed a great day, if had not given your time.

Literature: You do not have any further reading, however, it was clear that some of you had not read to Chapter 13 in TFS. Please catch up!

History 7th/8th: Read Chapters 7 and 8 in AR. Take reading notes for a quiz.
Read carefully the guidelines for the Veterans History Project on
the Library of Congress website.
Talk to your parents or friends and try to identify one WWII Vet who would be great to interview.
Conor, you will be working with Patrick.
Mary Hampton, I will need to talk to you when you feel ready.

5th/6th History: We had a mock exam on the states and capitals today.
Some did very well and others need to study during the break.
Please take a time everyday. to review these. ( It should take 10 minutes)

Please remember the field trip on March 25. I am looking forward to the entire day.

7th/8th History: Read Chapters 5 and 6 of Air Raid.
There will be no reading quiz because of the field trip, but the wise man would still take notes.


Literature: Read Chapters 6-12 in Trapp Family Singers.
I want you to watch for historical references and compare them to
what you have learned about the time period.

5th/6th History: I am so sorry that I had to leave you today. I will be back with you on
Friday. We will begin to review Chapters 32-34 in SOW.
I would like for you to be ready for a mock test on the states and capitals.
This one will not count, but the next one will!

Literature: Read the Introduction- Chapter 5 of The Trapp Family Singers.

5th/6th History: Read Chapter 34 of SOW.
We will finish the next two chapter and then we will test.

What a nice day we had today with our Passover time. I enjoyed a more informal time with the students.

7th/8th History: Bring your FDR outline to class.
Read Chapters 1 and 2 of Air Raid.
Take notes on reading for a reading quiz.

7th/8th Literature: Test on The Hiding Place.
Use your study sheet.
Please bring the von Trapp book to class.

5th/6th History: Read Chapter 32 of SOW.
If you did not get your project after the auction, I have them.

I am so proud of you for getting your papers to me. What an accomplishment, you guys are
so smart. I think the experience will be good for you from this point on.

Literature: Finish reading The Hiding Place.
We will review on Tuesday and test on Friday.

7th/8th History: Please bring the Theodore Taylor book to class.
Research the background and elements of Passover.

5th/6th History: Write two narrations for Chapter 31 of SOW.
Please try to look and include the main points.

Your rough draft of your research paper is due on Tuesday.
I have not seen everyone's paper. Please get that to me.

5th/6th History: Read Chapter 29 of SOW.
I am going to display your projects on Friday night. Please pick them up that
night.

What a wonderful opportunity hearing a first hand account of someone who lived during WWII.

Literature: Read Chapters 5-8 of The Hiding Place.
Read Proverbs 4 and look at the definition of wisdom.
Define baleful.

7th/8th History: I will be available if you would like for me to meet you at the library in the morning( Wed). Please let me know if you need specific help.
I did not get every one's outline. Please make arrangements for me to see yours. Email would be best.
Also, I still have several outlines. Please contact me and we can make provisions for them to be returned.
Begin writing your rough draft. The first three pages are due on Friday.


5th/6th History: Make review cards for Chapter 28. Weather permitting, we will play a relay game on Friday. Review your cards!
