Mrs. Fowler's assignments

Well, all day I was concerned that I would have to make this decision, but the filed trip for April 1 is cancelled.  The weather is suppose to be terrible and we must be safe at all times.
To make the blow of the cancelled trip a little softer, we are meeting tomorrow at Pizza Inn for pizza and a movie. We will meet at noon and will probably be finished about 2 p.m. I hope you can all join us.
Of course now I wished I had given you more homework, but I must stick with my original assignments.

6th/7th History: 7th graders should be working on end-of-year project.

6th Literature: Tree houses are due on Friday.

Science: The gliders were great fun. We will finish our review on Friday.

9th/10th grade Comp and Grammar: One more week of research.
                                                                   Please hold on to your NOUN hand outs.
                                                                   Fred Tkach is in charge of movie night!

Literature: Read Chapter 24-29 in Swiss Family Robinson.
                     Work on Treehouse project- due April 3.
                     Define vocabulary words.

Science: Compete the Chapter review on page 150.
                Read though material on on page 149.

Wow! Wasn't it fun to see the rocket launched? I'm guessing it reached around 600 feet.

6th/7th History:  Make 10 questions from Chapters 29 and 30 of SOW for a game.

Please don't forget the field trip next Wednesday to Charlestown Landing and Ft. Moultrie.
 
Literature: Read Chapters 20-23 in Swiss Family Robinson.
                        Please define words and answer questions.
                        Journal check in class.

Science: Please make sure all definitions are complete for pages 248-249.
                   Read pages 142-146.

9th/10th Grammar: Continue research for paper.
                                         Bring annotated bibliographies to class. ( I would think you would all 
                                          have at least 5)
                                         Fred  Tkach will work on a date for movie night.

Mrs. Fowler's assignments

Thank you to Mrs. Glover, our helper today. We appreciated you being with us.
Please remember our rocket launching on Tuesday.
Immediately after school we will meet in the dismissal parking lot and walk to Bladen Street together.
Mr. McFee is going to launch a rocket in an empty field there. We will then walk back to the parking lot.
Safety measures will be taken to protect your student at all times.
Mrs Heape, our room mother, will be calling each family about the field trip to Ft, Moultrie and Charlestown Landing. If you have specific questions, please let me know. The most important thing is an accurate count. The date for that trip is April 1.

6th/7th History: Read Chapters 29 and 30 of SOW.
                               Research the seal of the US.
                               What cabinet member is the keeper of the seal?
                               What are the Latin phrases on the seal? 
                                Preamble quiz on Friday, March 27.

Literature: Read Chapters 15-19 in SFR.
                        Define words and answer questions.

Science: Research the Wright Brothers. 
                  How long was the first flight?
                  Read pages 139-143 in book.
                  Bring balsa plane if available.

When I arrived at home today, I had received the information from Charlestown Landing for our field trip. Mrs. Heape is going to be calling your moms to find out our final numbers. I hope you will all make plans to go. It should be great fun.

The weather is really pretty, but try to stay focused. You will have a break soon.

6th/7th History: Read Chapter 31 of SOW. 
                               Write 5 facts about Chapter 27 and 5 about Chapter 31.
                                Bring a copy of the Bill of Rights to class.
                                Memorize the Preamble.

Literature: Read Chapters 9-14 in Swiss Family Robinson.
                      Define vocabulary words for notebook.
    
9th/10th Grammar and Composition: Three hours of research is required this week Please keep log.

Science: Next Tuesday after school ( 3 o'clock) we will meet in the parking lot beside the Presbyterian church, and Mr. McFee will walk us to a nearby field to launch a rocket. It should only take about 45 minutes total to walk, launch and return.  I will be in the parking lot to meet students and will return with them to the parking lot. Non-math students may stay with me until the launching.
All parents are invited to join us. Thanks to the McFees for their help!

Research the writing of the Constitution.
( Were all the states involved? Name two characters )

Literature: Read Chapters 6-8 in Swiss Family Robinson.
Define the words entered into your notebook.

Science: We need a rocket. If you have one that can be launched. please contact me.
Define the words on page 248.

Remember the field trip on April 1 to Ft Moultrie and Charlestown Landing.

9th/10th Grammar: Continue research and annotated bibliographies. If you research 3 hours this week, it will not be overwhelming in the end.

6th/7th History: Complete handout on the Articles of Confederation.
Read Chapter 26 of SOW.


Literature: Read Chapters 3-5 in Swiss Family Robinson.
Define words given in class.
Don't forget your journals.


Science: Read pages 237-239. If you have skates, try the activity on page 238.

Mrs. Fowler's assignments

I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful day. The weather is perfect and I am developing Spring Fever. That means we have to work hard to stay focused on the task before us.

I have talked to Ft. Moultrie and Charlestown Landing about a field trip.
The best day seems to be Wednesday, April 1.
I will send more details on Tuesday, but please mark your calendars. Our class will also need drivers and a count of extra people and siblings.

6th/7th History: 7th graders, please be thinking about your project for our end of the year presentation.
Read pages 81-93 in GWW.
Do some research about what the colonies did after the revolution.
Look up the Constitutional Convention.
Complete the definition sheet the on the Preamble.

Literature: Chapters 1 and 2 of Swiss Family Robinson.
Please keep a character list.
Lets all get back to our journals. You need to complete three entries a week.

Science: Finish problems on page 230. Read page 231-234. We will do the experiment on page233 in class.
