Read Chapter 5 in SOW.
Find 5 words you do not know and define them.
Be ready with details from the chapter for a game of Charades.
Find out when Korea was divided into two separate countries.
(this does not have to be written)

Literature:
Define words and answer questions on your "RIP" sheet.
Find a good definition of Personification.
Read Pages 52-62 in "Rip Van Winkle"

Science:
Read pages 34-38.
Complete chart on page 34
Complete chart on page 38. Do your best with this one. We will finish it together in class.
Review orally the 10 elements and chemical symbols on page 34.

It was so nice for me to be back at school and in the swing of things today. I appreciate Mrs. Avera and Mrs. Givens for filling in while I was away. I am very thankful for Mrs. McFee and her help today. We are truly blessed with our Trinity family.
If you are planning to go to Kanuga and will miss class, I would like to speak with you.

History:
Please be ready for review on Chapters 1-4 of SOW.
We will play a game to prepare for our test on Tuesday.
Research Pocahontas and find out about her trip to England and her Christian conversion.
Please read and complete worksheet for the "Northeast Explorers" material.

Literature:
Pretend you are a character at one scene of Gulliver's Travels. Write a first person narrative about what happened to you. ( This should be two pages)


Science:
Prepare for a quiz on the chart we completed together in class. ( States of Matter)
Read page 27 in text and enter bold words into binder.

Friday Homework: Read pages 32-51 of Gulliver.
Find 5 words you don't know and define.


Science: Tuesday Homework: Memorize the 10 Properties of Matter on Page 17.

Friday Homework: Read pages 20-21.
Add bold words to binder and define them.
Complete observation on page 22.

Answer these two questions-
1. What was in the ark of the covenant?
2. Why does a barge not sink?

Write a "direction" paper on one of the following:
a. How to make a bed.

Hello all,

I had the biggest blessing today. On my way home a student called me to confess that she had not come to class with her homework, and had waited and done it in class today. NOW, I don't approve of not doing your work, but I did so appreciate her honesty and her tender heart about wanting to do the right thing. She had really learned something today (although not from me) . She had learned that pleasing God and being pure and honest before Him was more important that getting by with something. To this young lady she knew that character is how you behave when no one is looking. Thank you for sharing and doing the right thing. I am proud of you!

I am giving you a little bit of homework so that we are not too far behind.

2. Write a short character sketch of your favorite character from NIGHTBIRDS.
( A character sketch is a written description of the character. This may include physical and behavioral characteristics.)

3.Draw a picture of your character from NIGHTBIRDS in your notebook.


History:

1. You will want to review the remainder of William Bradford.
2.Please enter the "details" from the September 5 th homework and write a short explanation of each in your binder.
3.We will review all of this in class and I will send your test home on Tuesday.

Please memorize the following formula:
